Tests that show their working

LifeScore is an online IQ test, practice tests for five job and entrance exams, and a library of plain-English guides to intelligence. This page is who makes it, how it is paid for, and what our scores can and cannot tell you.

What LifeScore is

Most people who find us want an answer to one of two questions: how sharp am I? or will I pass this test? We build for both.

  1. 25 visual reasoning puzzles in 12 minutes. No words, no maths lessons, nothing to revise. No sign-up to start. Your score and full report are a one-time paid unlock once you finish.
  2. Timed practice in the style of the CCAT, Wonderlic, ASVAB, TEAS and graduate numerical and verbal reasoning tests, with original questions and an estimate of where your score would sit on the real thing.
  3. What IQ scores mean, how they are measured and what they predict, with the studies named, plus calculators for percentiles, rarity and margins of error.
  4. LifeScore is also on the App Store as "LifeScore | Know Yourself".

Who makes it

LifeScore is an independent site operated by TripMemo LTD, a company registered in the United Kingdom, as our privacy policy states. It is not owned by a test publisher, and it is not affiliated with Mensa, Criteria Corp, Wonderlic, ATI, SHL or the U.S. Department of Defense.

Articles and test pages are written and edited by the LifeScore Editorial Team. We are writers, editors and developers, not clinicians. You will not find invented experts on this site: earlier versions of some articles carried names of experts who were not real people, and we removed them in October 2026. When a qualified reviewer checks our work, their real name, credentials and the pages they reviewed will appear here and on every page they signed off.

What the IQ test is, and what it is not

What it is

  • A 12-minute test of visual reasoning, the kind of puzzle full IQ tests use for fluid intelligence
  • Scored on a fixed scale: 50 plus 6 points for each right answer, shown with its percentile on the standard IQ curve
  • A good first look, and a number you can beat on your next attempt

What it is not

  • A clinical IQ assessment, or given by a psychologist
  • Normed on a representative sample or adjusted for age (yet)
  • Proof of IQ for Mensa, a school or an employer

How the score is calculated, how much it can move between attempts and why the norms are not finished are all on how the IQ test is scored, with every possible result in one table.

How LifeScore is paid for

Readers pay for it. Starting a test needs no sign-up. When you finish the IQ test, your score and full report are a one-time paid unlock; there is no subscription. On the practice tests your score shows as soon as you finish, and the answer explanations and extra practice tests are paid packs.

We advertise on other sites and apps to find new visitors. What data that involves, and which analytics and advertising services we use, is set out in our privacy policy.

What you can hold us to

  1. 01

    Every claim has a source

Facts in our guides point to a study or an official source, listed on the sources page. If we cannot find one, we cut the claim.
  2. 02

    Every score shows its working

Each test has a method page with the formula, a full score table and its limits. Start at how we make our tests.
  3. 03

    Estimates are called estimates

No test here is a diagnosis or an official score, and the result pages say so.
  4. 04

    Mistakes are fixed in public

Tell us and we will check it, fix it and record it in the change log.
