How this practice test works
The classic Wonderlic gives you 12 minutes for 50 questions, about 14 seconds each. Almost nobody finishes. Topics jump around and difficulty rises: vocabulary, analogies, jumbled sentences, written instructions, arithmetic, word problems, number series and shapes.
This test copies that format with 50 original questions on the same clock. You can skip but not go back, which builds the habit you need on the day: answer, guess or skip within seconds.
Blanks count as wrong, as on the real test.
How to read your score
Your score is the number right out of 50. The Wonderlic average is about 20 to 21, and 30 is roughly the top 10 percent (see the Wonderlic score chart). We estimate your percentile from a normal model centred on that average, and your IQ with the same method as our Wonderlic to IQ converter.
Employers set their own targets. Guidance quoted from Wonderlic's manual runs from the teens for routine production work, through 20 to 26 for clerical and supervisory roles, to the high 20s and 30 for engineers, managers and attorneys.
Can you raise a Wonderlic score?
Yes, within limits. The fastest gains come from pacing (never spend 40 seconds on one question), instant recognition of question types and mental-math shortcuts. Two or three timed tests with every mistake reviewed is the usual route. See how to pass the Wonderlic for a one-week plan and the Wonderlic sample questions for each question type.
The prep pack adds an explained answer for every question, your time per question, two more full tests and a 7-day plan aimed at your weakest section.
