Hand-written questions are drafted with the help of AI writing tools and edited by us. Each one carries a single keyed answer and a written explanation of the rule, which you see in the answer review. Automated checks confirm that every key points to a real option and that no question offers the same option twice.
Generated questions are built from a rule with the answer calculated by the code, never typed in by hand, so the key cannot be mistyped. Automated tests re-solve generated questions independently (for example re-deriving every number series and checking every ordering and syllogism has one consistent answer) and run on every change to the site.
Each practice test is 50 questions, ordered from easy to hard. The same test always has the same questions. Hand-written questions are dealt out so that no hand-written question appears in two different full practice tests.
Found a question with two right answers, or a wrong key? Tell us and we will fix it and log the fix in the change log.
How your score is estimated
Your result is your raw score out of 50 and an estimate of the share of real Wonderlic takers you would be ahead of, if your score carried over one to one.
Wonderlic does not publish a full percentile table, so the estimate uses a bell curve centred on the commonly reported average of about 21 with a spread of 7 points. Both are assumptions, labelled as such below.[1]
| Right answers | Ahead of Wonderlic takers | Implied IQ range |
|---|---|---|
| 10 of 50 | 6% | 72 to 95 |
| 15 of 50 | 20% | 79 to 103 |
| 20 of 50 | 44% | 87 to 110 |
| 25 of 50 | 72% | 94 to 118 |
| 30 of 50 | 90% | 102 to 125 |
| 35 of 50 | 98% | 109 to 133 |
| 40 of 50 | 99%+ | 117 to 140 |
| 45 of 50 | 99%+ | 123 to 146 |
| 50 of 50 | 99%+ | 123 to 146 |
What the estimate assumes
- Average of real takers
- About 21 of 50 (commonly reported as 20 to 21)
- Spread of real takers
- 7 points (our assumption; no official table is public)
- Shape
- A normal curve. Real score distributions are rarely perfectly normal at the extremes
- IQ range (on the Wonderlic to IQ page)
- Assumes a correlation of 0.75 between Wonderlic score and IQ. An assumption, not a measured figure
Limits worth knowing
- No percentile table from Wonderlic itself sits behind the estimate, so treat it as a rough guide, especially below 10 and above 35.
- Employers set their own cut-offs. The job guidance on our score pages is reported guidance, never a pass mark.
- Practice raises scores; your first attempt is the fairest read.
