How close is this practice test to the Deloitte test?

Deloitte says the cognitive half of its early careers assessment covers numerical and verbal reasoning. Our reasoning test is 25 numerical questions from business tables followed by 25 verbal True, False or Cannot say questions, so it trains the same two skills.

Deloitte's assessment also has a behavioural half, which no practice test can rehearse. Our test runs a single 45-minute clock, while candidates report separate, shorter timings for each Deloitte section. We cannot know Deloitte's question style, so expect different layouts.

It is a Reasoning-style test: 50 original questions in 45 minutes. Check the test name in your invitation email before you decide how to prepare.

The Deloitte stages, and who says so

Every stage is marked by its source. Stated means the employer says it on its own pages. Candidates report means we found it only in candidate accounts and prep guides.

Two halves, one sitting

Deloitte's own early careers page describes an assessment in two parts. The behavioural part gives you workplace scenarios and asks you to rank what you would do. The cognitive part is numerical and verbal reasoning. They are scored for different things and they need different preparation.

For the behavioural half, there is little to rehearse beyond reading about the firm and keeping your answers consistent with how you actually work. The cognitive half is where practice pays, because it is a skill you can improve. That is why a page like this one spends its time on reasoning.

No overall time limit does not mean no clock

Deloitte says there is no overall time limit and recommends finishing in one sitting to stay focused. Read that carefully. It describes the assessment as a whole. It does not say that every individual question or test is untimed.

Candidates and prep sites report timed reasoning sections. One 2026 guide puts numerical at about 25 minutes and verbal at about 20; another puts the verbal test between 20 and 30 minutes. An older Deloitte case study describes online reasoning tests taking about 70 minutes in total, on a different provider, before the current format. These do not agree, so we will not give you one number. The safe plan is to practise on a clock and find out what yours is when the platform loads.

Block out enough time to sit the whole thing without breaks anyway. Deloitte's advice points the same way.

Deloitte wants you to work alone

Deloitte's integrity guidance says online assessments, including the Immersive Online Assessment, must be completed independently and without AI assistance. If you have been using a chatbot to explain practice answers, keep doing that, because it is a good way to learn. Just make sure your last few practice sessions are unaided, so you know what you can do on your own.

A free timed test is a fair rehearsal for that. It shows you how you read tables and passages when nobody is helping.

The verbal half: judge the passage, not the world

Candidates describe a passage followed by statements to mark True, False or Cannot say. The skill is to answer from the passage only. A statement can be true in real life and still be Cannot say if the passage never supports it.

Read the statement first, find the sentence that settles it, then decide. If you are weighing probabilities, you have left the passage. Our verbal reasoning questions show the method on worked examples, and the second half of the practice test above is 25 passages in that style.

The numerical half: the shape of the questions

Deloitte names numerical reasoning, and candidate reports describe tables, charts and graphs with percentages, ratios and averages. That matches the first 25 questions of the practice test above, which are all business tables.

The most common loss is reading the wrong cell, not doing the wrong sum. Say what the question wants in a sentence before you look for the numbers. Then check the units on the column headings, because thousands against millions turns a correct method into a wrong answer. The numerical reasoning questions page has worked examples with the method.

A plan for the week before the deadline

You usually have several days to complete the assessment from the invitation, but check yours. Take the practice test above on day one to find out whether numerical or verbal costs you more. Spend the middle days on that half only. On day five, take the full test again unaided, and keep the last evening free.

Then read the invitation email once more. It is the only source that tells you which tests you are actually sitting, in what order and by when.

Take the free Reasoning test first

It takes 45 minutes and shows where you stand before you spend a single hour on revision. See what the Reasoning test covers.
  2. 02

Read the stages that apply to you

The comparison guides below line Deloitte up against other employers for each stage type, so you can see what is stated and what is only reported.
  3. 03

Add timed mocks if you want a full course

The Reasoning Pass Pack adds timed mocks, topic drills, a score predictor and a study plan. It is £29 (US$39) for this exam or £49 (US$59) for all five, one payment and no subscription. Your free score comes first, so you can decide with a number in hand.

Tips for the Deloitte assessment

  1. 01

Read the invitation for the test list

Guides disagree on which tests Deloitte sets. The invitation, not a blog, says what you will face.
  2. 02

    Sit it in one go

Deloitte recommends finishing in one sitting. Choose a time with no interruptions and a stable connection.
  3. 03

    Practise unaided

Deloitte requires independent work without AI assistance. Make your last practice sessions the same.
  4. 04

Answer verbal from the passage only

Cannot say is correct whenever the passage does not support the statement, however likely it sounds.
  5. 05

Say the numerical question in words first

Identify the rows, columns and units you need before you calculate anything.
  6. 06

Use the support if you need it

Deloitte lists extra time, practice questions and a trial of the platform. Ask before you start, not after.
  7. 07

Be consistent in the behavioural half

You are ranking what you would really do. Answers that contradict each other across scenarios help nobody.

What candidates and prep sites report

These come from anonymous reviews, university careers pages and prep guides. They often disagree, and Deloitte has not confirmed them. Read them as leads, not rules.

  • One 2026 prep guide describes an Immersive Online Assessment with about 25 minutes of numerical reasoning and about 20 minutes of verbal reasoning.
  • One guide says the tests are built by Cappfinity and that the numerical test may look different from standard numerical tests. We could not confirm this from Deloitte.
  • An older Deloitte case study describes online reasoning tests of about 70 minutes on a different provider. It predates the current format.
  • An older TargetJobs article describes five critical-reasoning subtests, such as inference and evaluation of arguments. That may apply to other Deloitte processes or earlier years.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Deloitte online assessment?

For UK early careers, Deloitte calls it the Immersive Online Assessment. It has a behavioural part with workplace scenarios and a cognitive part covering numerical and verbal reasoning.

Is the Deloitte assessment timed?

Deloitte says there is no overall time limit and recommends finishing in one sitting. Candidates report timed numerical and verbal sections, but sources disagree on the length, so check what the platform tells you when you start.

Can I use AI to help with the Deloitte assessment?

No. Deloitte's integrity guidance says online assessments must be completed independently and without AI assistance.

Can I get extra time or other adjustments?

Deloitte lists extra time, practice questions and a chance to try the platform in advance as examples of support. Contact the recruitment team before you begin.

Is there a calculator?

We could not find a stated rule. Have a calculator and paper ready in case, and use the instructions screen to confirm. Our own practice test does not provide one.

Who makes the Deloitte test?

Deloitte does not name a provider on the pages we read. One prep site says Cappfinity, others do not agree, and providers change. Check your invitation.

What is a good score?

Deloitte does not publish pass marks. Be wary of any site that quotes a percentile cut-off as fact.

Are the practice questions from the Deloitte test?

No. They are original questions in a similar style. We do not have, and do not claim to have, Deloitte's questions.

Checked October 2026. Structure, the absence of an overall time limit, adjustments and the AI rule come from Deloitte UK pages; the main early careers page we read is about two years old. Test lengths, the True, False, Cannot say format and the Cappfinity name come only from prep sites and candidates, which disagree with each other. We could not verify the provider.
